Finally got processing running my lights. I have it communication over midi to some custom made hardware that runs some solid-state relays for switch AC outlets on and off. I also can send midi to Martin LightJockey and trigger pre-programed cues and sequences. Lastly, I used Processing visual output to encode X and Y information and then used LED trix (part of Light Jockey) to directly control DMX output to a Roboscan.
Ok, I apologize for the poor video quality, but I really wanted to show something. This is only the first test, and the pitch detection is very slow, but the link is working great.
The slow response of the pitch detection makes it look a bit off, but the laser is actually following the notes.

I’m hoping to use processing to output ILDA data so I can drive standard laser projectors and produce some really cool generative lightshows directly from music.
